Custom 3D Models

The program allows you to load custom 3D models in Collada (.DAE files) and .OBJ formats.
There are websites where you can download free 3D models, for example, SketchUp 3D Warehouse (https://3dwarehouse.sketchup.com).
There are plenty software 3D Editors available which allow you to export 3D models in .DAE or .OBJ formats, for example, Sketchup, AutoDesk 3D Max, Maya, etc.

To add custom 3D model:
1. Open the "Site plan" tab, do left mouse click on the icon with people, then select "User models" > "Add user 3D model".

Choose a file .DAE or .OBJ. file.

2. After loading the 3D model you may need to change the scale and center the model. 3D models should be properly oriented and fit the real size. The red dashed frame around the model serves this purpose.
Right click on the model and select "3D model parameters".

3. Set Real 3D model size, so that the red frame takes the real size. You can correct the scale of the 3D model using scale buttons.   Click OK to apply the changes and see how the red frame has been changed.

4. It is convenient to work with model when it is in the dashed box (Center), is of the correct size (Scale) and is correctly oriented (Rotation), the green rotation circle should be in front of the model). After correcting all this parameters click OK to apply changes and close the window.

*All parameters will be saved in the .INI file in the 3D model folder.
