The software collects a little information about how software is used to help us improve product quality and features and prevent software piracy.
You have the option to participate in our Quality Improvement Program which shares more detailed information.
Information shared
Some data is usually shared with our servers for license checking and to prevent software piracy:
- License key information, type of license.
- Version of the program.
- Basic system information: localization details, hardware ID (to prevent simultaneous usage of the program on multiple PCs with the same license key).
- Aggregated time of usage (to check if the trial period limitation is not bypassed).
- Chosen language (to optimize messages).
If you participate in the quality improvement program (by selecting the checkbox in the installer), the software may share more detailed information.
This varies depending on the product version, but may typically include:
- Basic System information: OS, graphics card model, screen resolution.
- The amount of memory.
- Feature usage information such as toolbar buttons clicked.
- Selected camera models.
- Settings settings and options selected.
- Performance statistics: OpenGL rendering time.
- Error messages.
Quality Improment Program uses Google servers.
Information that is not collected by Quality Improvement Program:
- Personal data such as internet history, passwords, keyboard input, or what you use the program for.
- Drawings and background images opened by the program.
How we use this information
Information you share allows us to improve product quality and features in a variety of ways, for example:
- Prioritizing graphical performance optimization.
- Prioritizing features to work on in future product releases.
- Helping decide which camera manufacturers / models to add to the database.
- Better understanding how our software is being used and what can we improve.
- Prioritizing youtube video tutorials for popular features.
- Helping decide which platforms to support.
- Diagnosing problems and errors in products.
Opting out of the Quality Improvement Program
You can choose not to share detailed information about how you use our software by:
- Go to the Settings menu.
- Click on ‘Program Preferences’ menu item.
- Go to the ‘Perforance’ tab.
- Unselect “Quality Improvement Program” check box.
- Click OK.
